Savor this expedition to Longyou, Zhejiang, China...

The Flavor Frontier playfully illustrates how a strong sense of place can form from a diverse set of ingredients. Finding themselves in a new galaxy, players can experiment with pairing up different food-based pilots (drawn from real key ingredients found in Longyou). Certain combinations will reveal new food-based worlds (based on real famous Longyou dishes).

The Flavor Frontier was specially created as part of The Hyperlink of Food exhibition in Longyou, Zhejiang Province, China curated by Wang Yiquan in September 2023.

《星域美馔》通过互动性游戏风趣地展示了食物与地方归属感之间的亲密关系。置身于未知星河的玩家，通过尝试组织不同的飞行员团队，寻找属于龙游的美食新世界。

《星域美馔》是特地为2023年9月王懿泉在浙江龙游策划的展览“饮食超链接”所创作。

BACKGROUND

Shaped by a broad set of historic and geographic circumstances, the cuisine of Longyou presents a paradoxical blend of wide-ranging diversity and distinct uniqueness. This region serves as a vital transportation hub connecting the provinces of Jiangxi, Anhui, and Fujian to Zhejiang, which has led to a diverse population structure. It is precisely the convergence of these many factors that has given rise to the one-of-a-kind culinary delights of the Longyou area, along with their famous preference for spicy flavors.

Images in the game have been made using generative-A.I. tools (Stable Diffusion). This new technology, and the futuristic setting of the game itself, offer a fitting framework to experience the dynamic and ever-evolving culture of Longyou.

龙游美食受到地理和历史等众多因素的塑造，其广泛性和独特性呈现出巧妙的悖论。这里是浙江地区连接江西、安徽和福建三省的重要交通枢纽，形成了其多样的人口结构。正是这些多元的因素汇聚在一起，创造出了龙游地区独一无二的美食，和喜食辛辣风味的偏好。
